Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing

Jetta Tressell, Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse, specializes in the care of Bingham Memorial patients with wounds, ostomies, or continence disorders. This includes: non-healing wounds or bedsores, frequent urination, loss of bladder and/or bowel control, and problems with ostomy, such as skin irritation, leaking and other delicate concerns.

Jetta is certified by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB®). She extends expertise and exquisite care to our patients, and we are fortunate to have her on our team.

Certified in Wound Treatment:

  • Prevent and treat pressure ulcers
  • Provide comprehensive wound assessment, including debridement
  • Product selection: advanced treatment modalities
  • Complex wound management; support surface recommendations
  • Edema management
  • Compression devices

Certified in Ostomy care:

  • Pre-operative consultation and counseling
  • Site marking
  • Product selection/acquisition
  • Post-operative management
  • Fistula management

Also offering Continence Management:

  • Bowel and bladder training
  • Intermittent catheterization

Jetta Tressell, RN

Jetta Tressell received her Associate of Arts in Nursing from the University of Southern Colorado, and her Bachelor of Science from Idaho State University. With additional training at the University of Texas -- M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Jetta completed the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing cource and successfully attained her national certification through the WOC Nursing Certification Board.

For years, Jetta has continued to promote excellence in WOC nursing through a variety of activities including organizing the Eastern Idaho Ostomy Association support group and serving as the medical professional advisor. Jetta's previous experience includes teaching at EITC, and chairman of the Pressure Ulcer/Skin Care Committee Chairman at EIRMC.
