LAP-BANDŽ Surgery PDF Print E-mail

Bingham Memorial Hospital is pleased to introduce a new and healthy way to maintain your body weight. In the past, diet and exercise were the only prescribed treatments for weight loss. Now, obesity is recognized as a disease and the cause of many serious health conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, and sleep disorders. Today seriously overweight patients who have never been able to keep pounds off with diet pills, special meals, or other weight loss programs now have a safe, effective, and minimally invasive surgical option that significantly reduces food intake. This surgery is called the LAP-BAND® System. If you would like to learn more about the LAP-BAND System, we encourage you to attend one of our free, informative seminars. The Bariatric Team, along with former weight loss surgery patients, will be on-hand to explain the program and answer all your questions. Seminars are held twice a month at the hospital. To reserve a seat for you and a guest, you can sign-up today with this simple online registration form.

Integrating Health Care in our Community PDF Print E-mail

Over the past two years Bingham Memorial Hospital has worked extremely hard to establish new partnerships with a variety of physicians and specialists throughout the area which have resulted in new services being brought to Bingham County that we could only have dreamed about just a few short years ago. Our partnership with Dr. Allen and Dr. Huneycutt from The Spine Center has resulted in numerous intricate spine surgeries being performed here at Bingham Memorial Hospital. The recently announced partnership between Bingham Memorial and The Idaho Kidney Center will offer the first outpatient dialysis center in the City of Blackfoot. This service will benefit a large group of dialysis patients in our area who have had to travel out of town three times a week for their treatments. And of course our visiting physician program brings in over 17 specialists every month so that you can be seen by some of the best specialty physicians in the area, right here in your own hospital. This is yet another example of how partnerships such as these are truly helping members of our community every day.

For years we have all seen doctors on TV shows such as ER, MASH and Grays Anatomy leap on top of a patient’s gurney as it is wheeled down a hospital hall at break-neck speed, pounding on their chest, willing them to live by performing “Stunt CPR” until they reach their destination. George Clooney looked pretty good doing this, but in the real world, hospitals have been looking for a better way to stabilize cardiac arrest patients for years...without resorting to hiring a stuntman.
