J. Kendall Christensen, DO, board-certified family medicine and fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist at Bingham Memorial’s Orthopedic Institute, will be bringing in different health experts on a monthly basis to speak about healthy weight-loss techniques, positive lifestyle choices, and exercising for health, in spite of possible limitations.

This month, Dr. Christensen will be providing an overview about what “getting healthy” means. Dietitians will show a sample recipe along with the underlying concepts of healthy eating and give some pointers about the small changes a person can make in order to cook healthier, what substitutions they can make, and how to cut things that aren’t healthy out of their diet.

In addition, a physical therapist will be talking about some easy exercises you can start doing to begin building muscle and getting healthier, without having a gym membership or special equipment. The physical therapist will also lead 10 to 15 minutes of exercise using these methods so everyone can make sure they understand how to continue doing the exercises at home.
