Travis Wies, MSN, FNP-CSpecialty: Family Medicine Travis Wies, FNP-C is a member of the Bingham Family of medical providers. His office is located at 1st Choice Urgent Care, where he helps provide education and treatment of family health needs, diabetes, and other medical conditions. Travis always wanted to go into medicine, but was unsure of the avenue to take. After researching different fields, he found that nursing was the one that fit him best. This desire has helped Travis to be successful with his nursing education and receive great satisfaction from working with patients. Travis is a graduate of Westminster College in Salt Lake City, where he completed a Masters of Science in Nursing, and the training to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. As a nurse at Primary Children’s Medical Center, Travis spent much of his time educating patients about conditions such as diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and others. This experience of patient education is an intricate part of the way Travis practices medicine. He wants patients to feel like they are an active participant in their medical care. When cooperation and dedication to a patient’s goal is present, Travis has found that patients are able to achieve an optimal level of health and wellness. In his spare time, Travis likes to spend time with his wife and children, camping, backpacking, watching movies, cooking, playing soccer, volleyball and golf.
