Christopher Heatherton, DO
Specialty: Family Medicine
Bingham Memorial Hospital is pleased to introduce Christopher Heatherton, DO, board-certified family medicine specialist. He practices family medicine with a focus on patient wellness and prevention.
Dr. Heatherton was born and raised in New Hampshire. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Philosophy minor from Saint Michaels College in Winooski, Vermont. After working for nonprofit hospitals in business, Dr. Heatherton decided to pursue medicine because of the personal interactions. He then attended the University of Washington in Seattle and completed post-baccalaureate courses in anatomy and physiology. He received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, and completed his residency at the New Hampshire Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in Concord, New Hampshire.
Dr. Heatherton chose to specialize in family medicine because it gives him the opportunity to work with patients of all ages—from newborns, children, and teens to adults and the elderly. While Dr. Heatherton cares for all members of a family, it is particularly important for him to help adolescents through mild to severe cases of depression.
His patients describe him as friendly, easy to talk to, and someone who genuinely cares about their well-being, always placing their best interests first. In addition, he works with patients on preventative health measures, specifically unique ways to eat better, and he participates in community-wide programs such as “Run with a Doc” and “Shop with a Doc.”
When Dr. Heatherton is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and they love traveling, surfing, camping, bicycle riding, and skiing.
