Specialty: Family Medicine
Bingham Memorial Hospital is pleased to introduce Kate Roth, a nationally board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-C). Kate brings a tremendous amount of knowledge about healthcare to our team as she has been working in the medical field for more than 20 years.
Kate’s current special interests are in delivering primary care to men, women, and adolescents with an emphasis on wellness and prevention. She has additional training and expertise in women’s health, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy for men and women (including hormone pellet therapy), thyroid disease, insulin resistance, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Kate is passionate about the patient/healthcare provider partnership and providing health education to people throughout eastern Idaho.
Kate earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago—College of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois. Kate started her career as a Registered Nurse at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital & Clinics in Chicago, Illinois. Since then, she has worked for more than 12 years a variety of health-related capacities in Pocatello, Idaho, and it is also there that she completed a Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioners from Idaho State University—Graduate School of Nursing.
Kate knew from a young age she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. She has worked in multiple healthcare settings as a registered nurse and a nurse practitioner, driven by a deep desire to help people. She’s worked in stem cell transplant, intensive care and trauma, undergraduate nursing education, case management, and as a family nurse practitioner.
Her patient philosophy is all about caring for and treating the whole person. “I’m dedicated to providing outstanding primary care by getting to the bottom—or root cause—of things,” says Kate. “I like to merge a natural approach to medicine with scientifically based treatment guidelines, and I believe in developing relationships/partnerships with patients.” Her patients describe her as thorough, honest, and caring, and she’s been told on multiple occasions: “You’re the only person that has listened to me.”
