Bingham Memorial Hospital is pleased to have Jake Poulter, M.D., Pain Management and Anesthesiology, as a part of the Bingham Memorial family of physicians and the Idaho Pain Group.
Dr. Poulter received his medical degree from the University of Utah. He continued his post-doctoral training with a residency in anesthesiology at the University of New Mexico, and returned to the University of Utah to complete a prestigious fellowship in chronic pain management.
As a specialist who provides pain relief, Dr. Poulter see patients who suffer from lower-back problems, arthritis, cancer, repetitive stress injuries, headaches, fibromyalgia as well as nerve injury from diabetes, shingles, infections, operations, amputation or other neurological conditions. He will also be practicing anesthesiology in the operating room.
As a member of the Idaho Pain Group, Dr. Poulter also helps improve patient functionality and quality of life through a multi-disciplinary approach. Team members evaluate functional and behavioral components, which enable him to prescribe the best medication combination or interventional techniques. Each patient plays an important role in the treatment process as they describe their pain, needs, and concerns. By being a good doctor, listener, and communicator, Dr. Poulter is able to develop a unique treatment plan and then explain to his patients how they will benefit from the plan.
Originally from Rigby, Dr. Poulter is excited to be coming home to Idaho with his family. He has a black belt in karate, enjoys exercise, scouting, and spending time with his family in the great outdoors.
