Dr. Himmler has always enjoyed taking care of others and worked at a rehabilitation unit during college. As a result, she decided to pursue a career as a physician.

Dr. Himmler is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She went to medical school at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed her residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School Department of Medicine and Rehabilitation in Norfolk, Virginia. She is also trained in acupuncture and is a member of the Idaho Medical Association.

Many of the patients Dr. Himmler helps have disabilities like acute paralysis, stroke, and spinal injuries. She believes attitude is everything in treatment. By combining an understanding of their injury with tough love, she finds her patients can overcome disappointment and physical restraints to live a normal life again. She points to the example of paraplegics she knows who have overcome their disabilities and are still practicing physicians.

Dr. Himmler and her husband, who is a Family Practice physician, have 3 kids. Their daughter recently returned safe and sound from serving a tour of duty in Iraq. She enjoys camping, snowboarding, country swing dancing, and remodeling their home.
