Specialty: Bariatric, General Surgery
Bingham Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Robert L. Coray, MD, to our medical staff. Dr. Coray brings nearly 20 years of experience as a general surgeon, and has special interests in endoscopy, advanced laparoscopic (minimally invasive), vascular (blood vessels), cosmetic and dialysis access surgery.
Dr. Coray earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Idaho State University in Pocatello, and received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He then completed a general surgery residency at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and an Associate with the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians.
Dr. Coray’s diverse experience includes performing surgery on thyroids, hernias, gallbladders, and cancers, such as breast and colon. He also performs upper and lower endoscopies and intestinal tract procedures using advanced laparoscopic (minimally invasive) procedures. For over 10 years, he has been active in treating varicose and spider vein disease using lasers, and he offers cosmetic procedures such as breast augmentation and SmartLipo body sculpting—a state-of-the-art laser liposuction procedure.
“It is always a privilege taking care of patients, whether it’s diagnosing and curing a surgical disease or helping them achieve their aesthetic goals for improved self-esteem and confidence,” says Dr. Coray. “I became a surgeon to be a hands-on participant in improving people’s lives, and usually seeing immediate results. Ultimately, though, I enjoy getting to know each patient personally so together we can determine the best course of treatment.”
When Dr. Coray is not practicing medicine and improving people’s lives, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. They love the outdoors and being involved in community activities. Additionally, he loves waterskiing, snowmobiling, hiking, hunting, and fishing.
