Dr. R. Russell Burt is a native of Idaho. He was born in Coeur d Alene, but did not stay very long. He moved with his family eventually to Washington, California, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. He graduated from Rosemount Senior High near St. Paul and then went to Winona State University in southern Minnesota for one year. He then served a mission for the L.D.S. Church in southern Chile where he learned Spanish. This has served him well over the years professionally as it has facilitated his communication with the Hispanic members of the community.

He then attended the university studying at Brigham Young University and then transferring to Idaho State University where he graduated in 1985. He matriculated into the Creighton Dental School from which he graduated in 1989.

He next joined the U. S. Army fulfilling a dream he has had since high school to serve his country in the armed forces. He entered the U.S. Army one year general dental residency from which he graduated in 1990. Then he moved his family to Mannheim, Germany where he worked as an Army dentist for the next three years.

His final move was to Blackfoot, Idaho. Here he purchased the practice of Dr. Jack VanDercreek. He has served also as a dentist at State Hospital South and also the Pocatello Women s Correctional Center. He has thoroughly enjoyed living in Blackfoot with his family of five children and his wife, Diane.

His practice is oriented toward family based general dentistry. He enjoys working with children, the elderly and handicapped in a hospital setting providing dentistry that would be difficult or impossible to provide in the normal setting of a private practice.

Dr. Burt s practice is located just south of the hospital at 310 W. Idaho Street here in Blackfoot.
