Bingham Memorial Hospital is pleased to introduce Richard W. Felt, MD, a fellowship-trained pulmonologist.
As a pulmonologist, Dr. Felt sees patients with respiratory disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), chronic bronchitis, asthma, emphysema, occupationally related breathing disorders, and inflammatory lung disease and pulmonary fibrosis. He also offers evaluations for unexplained shortness of breath and lung cancer.
Dr. Felt earned a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center in Portland, Oregon, where he also completed his fellowship in pulmonology and critical care medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Felt’s interest in medicine started at the age of five years old, inspired by his family pediatrician. As his education unfolded, he developed a keen interest in biological sciences coupled with an inherent sense in helping others. Dr. Felt’s patients describe him as easy to talk to, knowledgeable, caring, and someone they can always count on.
“I always act as the patients advocate, doing all I can to help them recover from or improve their symptoms and illness,” says Dr. Felt.
“I treat patients as I hope I would be treated. I try to involve them in decision making about their care.”
