BLACKFOOT, ID ― OCTOBER 11, 2016 ― Bingham Memorial Hospital (BMH) will be holding an open house in honor of the 21 new healthcare providers they have welcomed to their medical staff this year. This event, open to the public, will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Bingham Memorial Medical Plaza, 98 Poplar St., Blackfoot, ID.
With fall and the flu season officially underway, free flu shots will be available at the open house. There will be great food and door prizes, and to help entertain the kids while parents talk with physicians, there will be a Fall Carnival with face painters, balloon artists, trick-or-treating, and food items specially for kids.
The open house will also be an opportunity for the community to become acquainted with Bingham Memorial’s new healthcare providers along with the services and procedures they offer. These new doctors and providers continue to help Bingham Memorial provide high-quality medical care in a caring and compassionate manner.
“As a local, non-profit hospital, our goal is to identify and assemble the most qualified group of physicians in the country for the benefit of our patients,” says Jeff Daniels, CEO of BMH. “We have invested a lot of time and resources to continue bringing world-class specialists to eastern Idaho—from Rexburg to Pocatello.”
Since January, BMH has welcomed 18 new medical providers and three new internal medicine residents to their growing healthcare system. They have brought leading specialists to the region in the areas of bariatric and general surgery, counseling & mental health, family and sports medicine, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedic spine surgery, pediatrics, and pulmonology.
Bingham Memorial’s Weight Loss Center—the region’s only MBSAQIP Accredited - Comprehensive Center—welcomed Tammy Fouse, DO, bariatric & general surgeon, who completed her prestigious fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic. Doran J. Schneider, DO, board-certified general surgeon, has also joined the Bingham Memorial surgical team.
With 30 years of experience, Richard W. Felt, MD, double-board-certified pulmonologist and internal medicine specialist, has joined the BMH medical staff. As a fellowship-trained pulmonologist, Dr. Felt sees patients who suffer from breathing-related issues, such as asthma, emphysema, and COPD, in Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, and Pocatello.
To enhance their mental health & counseling services, BMH has hired a board-certified Counselor, Suzanne Godfrey, LCPC, NCC. She has a background in psychology and marital, couple, and family counseling, and has helped clients of all ages struggling with a range of issues. She is a strengths-based and gender-informed counselor who focuses on cultivating wellness, personal empowerment, and happiness in her clients.
BMH is also fortunate to have Bradley J Anderson, MD, ophthalmologist, on their team who now sees patients in Blackfoot and Pocatello. He treats patients with eye diseases like cataracts and glaucoma, and is one of the few ophthalmologists in eastern Idaho who performs LASIK eye surgery using the latest advances in technology.
To care for patients of all ages and the entire family, Bingham Memorial Family Medicine has added seven new family medicine providers throughout eastern Idaho:
In addition, J. Kendall Christensen, DO, board certified in family medicine and fellowship trained in sports medicine, has joined Bingham Memorial’s Family Medicine and Orthopedic Institute. He sees patients in Blackfoot and Idaho Falls. And, as the only pediatrician in Bingham County, Gary Ullery, DO, is welcoming new patients to his growing practice.
To perform the latest in advanced spine surgeries, BMH has welcomed Stephen Hansen, DO, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained spine surgeon, and Robert E. Johnson, DO, fellowship-trained spine surgeon.
W. Scott Huneycutt, MD, neurosurgeon, and his first-surgical-assist, Annie Dixon, PA-C, are now seeing patients at the Physicians & Surgeons Clinic of Pocatello and the Idaho Physicians Clinic in Blackfoot.
Bingham Internal Medicine Residency added three new Internal Medicine Residents to their growing program: Brock Aldrich, DO; Greg Gibbs, DO; and, Dave Ohlson, DO.
“As you can see, it’s been an exciting year at Bingham Memorial,” says Mr. Daniels. “We invite the community to attend this fun open house, which will be a great opportunity to meet and celebrate the world-class physicians and exceptional healthcare providers who have joined us this year.”
