Make a Difference Volunteer

Be a Bingham Memorial Hospital volunteer!

One key to a happy life is becoming involved in your community. Studies have shown that people who volunteer live longer than their peers who do not. Bingham Memorial Hospital and Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center have more than 50 active volunteers who operate a beauty shop, gift shop, distribute hospital mail, and contribute in countless other ways. Last year alone, hospital volunteers donated more than 4,000 hours of service. Bingham Memorial Hospital loves our volunteers!

Here are four tips to get you connected to hospital volunteering:

1. Consider your interests
What are your strengths and abilities? Is there a particular area of interest you feel passionate about? Would you like to experience something new? Would you like to help people?

2. Become familiar with volunteer activities
Aside from the volunteer opportunities listed above, BMH is looking for volunteers who are interested in helping at the information desk, reading to patients, sewing, assisting with activities in the Extended Care Facility and much more. The opportunities are endless!

3. Determine your schedule
How much time are you able to commit? Would you like to do things from your home? Would short-term tasks or events suit you? Or, is an ongoing, consistent opportunity more suitable?

4. Get connected
