Amie Kenyen, NP*

We are pleased to introduce Amie Kenyen, NP, family nurse practitioner (NP), who has joined the team at Idaho Kidney Institute. She brings over 14 years of diverse medical experience to the team.

Currently, Amie works in the field of nephrology to diagnose and treat patients with electrolyte disorders, hypertension, acute and chronic kidney disease, and end stage renal disease, including patients on dialysis and post kidney transplantation in clinic and round on patients in community dialysis facilities. She also collaborates with nephrologists to provide individualized education and support to nephrology patients, promoting kidney health, generalized health promotion, and the use of renal replacement therapies that support individualized patient lifestyles. 

She is a dynamic team leader with strengths in building and maintaining rapport with patients and families, colleagues, and key constituents of diverse backgrounds, while providing continual training and mentoring to current staff. She is highly skilled in clinical assessment, diagnoses, and developing treatment plans while providing high-quality and compassionate patient care. Her knowledge encompasses acute and outpatient health assessments, diagnostic testing and interpretation, and proficiencies with multiple electronic medical record charting systems.

Amie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, and holds a Master of Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from South University in Savannah, Georgia. She chose the healthcare field because she likes talking to and helping people.

When she is not practicing medicine, Amie enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and hiking.
