Linda Valentine Says Farewell

Jun 14, 2016Press Releases

After 32 years of dedicated service, Linda Valentine, Director of the Bingham Memorial Health Care Foundation, is retiring. It’s appropriate that Linda’s last name is Valentine because she has truly been the heart and soul of Bingham Memorial Hospital (BMH) for the past three decades.

Linda first started working at BMH in the Patient Admissions Department in 1984. She later served as a Ward Clerk and was privileged to work in the Quality Assurance/Utilization Review Department for five years. She was then promoted and served as Executive Assistant to three hospital administrators. Linda also served for many years as a member of the Employee Activity Committee, worked closely with the Board of Directors, helped to train new employees, and served as the unofficial historian. Most recently, she was Director of the Bingham Health Care Foundation. Linda does plan to continue at BMH as a volunteer.

During every employee orientation, she taught all new employees to always be committed, responsible, thoughtful, and considerate. Linda also emphasized the importance of listening to people the way you would like to be listened to, to respect and pay attention to what happens to others, and to embrace diversity in all of its many forms.

Everyone can agree that Linda’s caring and compassionate attitude has provided vital inspiration and hope to BMH patients and guests at some of the most delicate and critical times. She has selflessly given herself to so many people and causes. She is a knowledgeable, kind, classy, strong, and enthusiastic woman who has openly embraced all of the citizens and visitors of Bingham County and eastern Idaho. Linda captures the hearts of everyone she meets, and her presence, passion, and warm smile will be greatly missed.

“Since deciding to retire from full-time service at Bingham Memorial, I’ve experienced a kaleidoscope of emotions as I reflect on memories from my time at the hospital,” says Linda. “I have been fortunate to work with so many wonderful people through the years. They have truly been my extended family. I am proud to have had a part in helping to make Bingham Memorial Hospital the amazing facility it is today.”

A special conference room has been dedicated in honor of Linda’s conscientious and distinguished service. The Administration conference room on the main floor of the hospital will now be known as the “Valentine Conference Room.” A placard at the entrance of the room has the following inscription:

“In recognition of Linda Valentine for over 30 years of dedicated and loyal service to Bingham Memorial Hospital. Linda is a humble giver who instills pride and kindness to all who enter the hospital. She leads by example and inspires all who work with her. Her legacy and dedication have been hallmarks of Bingham Memorial Hospital.”

“Linda, on behalf of everyone at Bingham Memorial, we would like to thank you for your dedication and hard work and for showing us what it truly means to give back and love the community you live in,” says Jeff Daniels, CEO of BMH. “We wish you much joy and happiness as you begin a new chapter in your life.”
