Maryann Smout, DNP, FNP-C, APRN*

We are pleased to introduce Maryann Smout, certified family nurse practitioner, who works on our medical team at our urgent cares in Blackfoot, Idaho Falls/Ammon, and Pocatello, all members of Bingham Healthcare.

With nearly 10 years of medical experience, Maryann assesses patients by performing a comprehensive history, physical examination, and appropriate diagnostic testing. She formulates plans to manage a patient’s condition medically and serves as a health information resource through interactions with patients and their families. She has worked in a variety of medical settings, including acute care, home health, and long-term care.

She strives to build sincere patient-provider relationships and get to know those she cares for as individuals; empowering each patient to make positive, informed health choices.

Specifically, she treats patients with acute illnesses including fever, dehydration, influenza, asthma exacerbation, pneumonia, accidental ingestion, appendicitis, bowel obstructions, gastroenteritis, serious bug bites, burns, abscesses, and other viral illnesses. She also treats patients with head injuries, lacerations, sprains, fractures, and dislocations.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice – Family Nurse Practitioner from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho.

Maryann was born and raised in Rexburg, Idaho. When she is not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, backpacking, exploring the outdoors, and traveling.
