Bingham Memorial Hospital is proud to welcome Dr. Prashanth Manjunath to the medical staff in the area of pain management.

Dr. Manjunath completed his medical residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. After residency, Dr. Manjunath completed one of the most prestigious pain fellowships in the country at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and holds a medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India.

After spending his youth and early adulthood studying biological sciences, Dr. Manjunath embarked on a medical career to combine his passion for science and his love for helping people. He chose pain management because of the opportunities it provides for making a difference in the everyday lives of patients.

Speaking about pain management, Dr. Manjunath explains that “Pain can be controlled to the extent that you are able to function and have a high quality of life. But every patient is different, so I tailor the approach to each individual.”

With his experience in pain management, Dr. Manjunath knows that some people come to the doctor not knowing how they’ll make it through another day. “Controlling pain is essential,” he says. “And once you do that, patients realize that there is hope.”

With such an impressive medical pedigree, Dr. Manjunath’s opportunities were seemingly endless. He chose Bingham Memorial because of the level of care afforded by a knowledgeable staff and the world-class facilities found in a small town like Blackfoot.

“I noticed the friendliness of the people not only here at the hospital, but all around town,” he says. “The teamwork of the staff combined with the sense of warmth I felt convinced me that this would be an excellent place to practice medicine.”

Dr. Manjunath and his family enjoy traveling, especially to national parks. He also enjoys hiking and playing chess in his spare time.
