2021 Servant’s Heart of the Year Award Winner

For the past year, we’ve had the privilege of honoring three Bingham Healthcare team members with the Servant’s Heart Award each quarter. This goes to employees, physicians, and volunteers who are nominated by their peers for going above and beyond to deliver not only caring and compassionate care—but extraordinary care—that positively impacts our patients in a variety of ways.

However, every year we like to recognize one employee who consistently exemplifies what it means to have a Servant’s Heart. In honor of one employee who has been nominated more times than anyone else by her peers, and repeatedly praised by patients, we are delighted to announce that ELAYNA GALLOWAY, CNA, Psych Tech, is the recipient of the 2021 Servant’s Heart of the Year award. Elayna has been a Bingham employee since 2016, and we are pleased to give this award to her in honor of her dedication to our patients and employees.

We are indebted to Elayna for her unwavering commitment to our patients and employees. She is truly an extraordinary human being whose work and countless acts of kindness have been fundamental in embodying compassionate and loving care at Bingham Healthcare. We greatly appreciate the tremendous joy and inspiration Elayna brings to our patients and employees on a daily basis.”

“Elayna works in the Gero-Psych unit of the hospital. She was nominated by no less than five of her colleagues. She’s described as ‘friendly,’ ‘always smiling,’ ‘a ray of sunshine,’ ‘one of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with!’”

“She’s always so willing to help anyone that needs her help. She’s a great listener. From all appearances, she’s has taken true ownership of her roles and responsibilities. She works hard to come up with new things so the group meetings are meaningful and effective. She frequently spends her own money to provide materials for these groups.”

“Elayna never complains when it’s her turn to float, and always willing to help other staff with shift switches or pick-ups.”

“In the recent past, I rubbed shoulders with Elayna when the food cart was able to go down to Gero-Psych. To me, she seemed naturally happy and have high energy for the patients and the work. We know that an up-tone person assists in the recovery and healing process.”

“Elayna is so friendly who every soul she comes in contact with. She is wonderful with the Gero Psych patients. She never fusses when it is her turn to float to another unit, and she is always willing to help out other staff members with shift switches or pick-ups. She performs great groups in Gero-Psych and is always a listening ear. I have even noticed her buying supplies and activities for the patients to do with her own money and never asks for reimbursement. She is a ray of sunshine in the unit.”

“Elayna is always willing to help out. She is not afraid to try new things. She continues to grow in her role at New Leaf. She always comes to work ready to help and with a smile for everyone she encounters.”

“Elayna is an amazing team member and is always going above and beyond to meet the needs of the patients. She spends a lot of time preparing groups for the patients and participates in them with the patients. She even spends her own money to provide materials for groups. She is willing to trade shifts with the other aides to meet the needs of the team and she never hesitates to help out the nurses.”
