Bingham Memorial Hospital is pleased to introduce Tammy Fouse, DO, bariatric and general surgeon.

Dr. Fouse brings the latest in state-of-the-art surgical skills and minimally invasive techniques, as well as her passion for helping to change people’s lives, to eastern Idaho. As a fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon, she specializes in advanced bariatric procedures, including laparoscopic/open Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and revisional surgery, particularly band removal and band conversion to sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass. She also performs the nonsurgical intragastric balloon weight-loss procedure and a wide range of general surgeries, including anti-reflux, laparoscopic gall bladder, appendix, hernia and colon surgery. She also performs upper endoscopies and colonoscopies.

Dr. Fouse completed her fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her general surgery residency at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon, Ohio.

“I absolutely love working with bariatric patients to provide tailored solutions to help reverse the chronic disease processes associated with obesity,” says Dr. Fouse. “By helping people take the first step on their weight-loss journey to return to a healthy weight, I’ve seen patients who can get to a point where they can finally stop taking high blood pressure medications, put diabetes into remission, and even get to a healthy weight so they can have a knee or hip replacement. Nothing means more to me than having the opportunity to be instrumental in changing people’s lives in such profound ways.”

Dr. Fouse earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. She later participated in Loyola University’s Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program in Chicago, Illinois, and earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Fouse is an active member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons as well as a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Fouse enjoys providing medical care to underserved populations and performs annual surgical mission trips to Africa and Mexico. When she is not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their teenage twins. As a family, they love spending time outdoors hiking, mountain biking, fishing, skiing, and off-roading.
